Funeral Services for Dorothy Tarr will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. A luncheon for family and friends in the Parish Hall will follow Mass. The entombment service will start around 1 pm at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at the St. Frances Cabrini Mausoleum located at 12801 West 44th Avenue in Wheat Ridge, CO.

Dorothy Tarr was a wonderful woman who was loved and admired by her large family and group of friends. Her parents, Harry and Jessamine Doran, her four brothers (Jack, Tom, Bob, Bill) and her sister, Marion, who all predeceased her. Her sister, Elinor Swartz, survives her.
In 1942, she and Elinor graduated in the first class of women trained to be aircraft communicators and weather observers for the CAA (now the FAA). Dorothy met Jim Tarr, a Lincoln, NE air traffic controller through Elinor. Jim and Dorothy married on June 15, 1946. Dorothy and Jim were married for almost 64 years until his passing in May 2010. She is survived by her six children, James (Elizabeth) Tarr Jr., Dr. John Tarr (Dr. Edie Albano ), Sharon Tarr (Hank) Worley, Richard (Becky) Tarr, Jane (Terry) Wright and William Tarr. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
