Mary Josephine Cecilia Engelhardt age 82, passed away on October 8th, 2019. She was born to Robert Edmund Engelhardt and Thelma Gertrude (Lusk) Engelhardt on April 7th, 1937 in Denver Colorado. She was the 2nd child of 5.

Mary Jo attended St. Catherine’s, Holy Family and graduated from North High School. She furthered her education at Emily Griffith Opportunity school and the Community College of Denver. After graduating from High school, she married Kernan Dale Colyer and shortly afterward four children came along. Mary Jo was proud to be able to stay at home and care for her family. She returned to work at Denver General Hospital but most of her years were at Mountain Bell Telephone Co and Larimer County Mental Health Center in Fort Collins, Co.

Mary Jo was known for her positive attitude and good sense of humor. With Faith as her foundation, she walked thru her life with her head up during all the challenges she faced. She was a “Light of Inspiration” to those who knew her and has been called a “Spirit Lifter”. Mary Jo’s Passion were caring and praying for her family and enjoying God’s beauty such as the majestic mountains, soothing beaches, sunrise’s and sunsets.

She is preceded in death by her grandson Andrew Roth Colyer Anderson and brothers Robert and Danny Engelhardt.

She is survived by her son, Mark Andrew Colyer and daughters Cynthia Lynn O’Melia, Joyce Lee Colyer and Sherry Ann Zimmerman; grandchildren David and Joshua O’Melia, Hannah Colyer, Amy (Amoreena) Walker and Christopher Thomas; 12 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Jacque Wade and brother Richard Engelhardt.

She was loved dearly by her family and friends and will be missed by many.
